Dillewijn Zwapak helps Sainsbury’s to reduce plastic

27-09-2019

Dillewijn Zwapak helps Sainsbury’s to reduce plasticThe 12 week trial, which will run in 167 Sainsbury’s stores, marks another step towards achieving the company’s commitment to reduce plastics by 50% by 2025. Sainsbury’s becomes first major UK retailer to replace plastic flower bags with paper packaging. The trial will save 10 tonnes of plastic waste, the supermarket chain said. Dillewijn Zwapak worked with Sainsbury’s to ensure that paper wrapping is introduced at the point of manufacture, rather than plastic wrapping being removed from the flowers during the process and then replaced with paper. We are happy Sainsbury’s chose Dillewijn Zwapak as a partner for this important learning and testing period. The sleeve is made of 50 grams brown kraft paper. Dillewijn Zwapak congratulates Sainsbury’s with this major achievement for the environment.
